The Stokes County Courthouse Addition project is currently ongoing and includes the construction of cast in place concrete foundations, CMU walls for stairwell and elevator tower, structural steel, and cold form steel framing for the building addition. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, backfill testing, foundation bearing surface evaluations, reinforcing steel evaluations. masonry testing and inspections for stairwell and shearwalls, spray-applied fireproofing inspections, structural steel inspections, review of welding procedure specifications (WPS) and welder qualification records (WQR), performing visual inspections of structural steel welded connections and conducting ultrasonic testing (UT) of complete joint penetration (CJP) welds. All welding inspections and nondestructive testing are being performed in accordance with AWS D1.1 to ensure conformance with the approved construction documents and applicable codes.
