This was a Public Utilities Department (PUD) capital improvements project that included replacing approximately 700 linear feet of sanitary sewer interceptor. The sewer crosses the North Oconee River and required three (3), two (2) pier bents for a 36” diameter sewer main within a 54” diameter casing. Piers were drilled to rock and rock socket was installed. Pipe weld testing and inspection by a Certified Welding Inspector was required for the river crossing. Geo-Hydro performed the geotechnical exploration and visual and ultrasonic weld testing, drilled pier observation and testing, and density testing on utility backfill.
