Geo-Hydro provided construction materials testing and special inspections for an expansion to the existing Volvo office in Greensboro, North Carolina. The three story expansion added over 60,000 square feet of new office space. Our scope of services included fill placement testing, shallow foundation evaluation, concrete testing, masonry inspection, and structural steel testing. Due to the expansion’s proximity to a former creek bed, Geo-Hydro worked closely with the contractor to ensure that the foundation was bearing on strong, competent soils. Our work was performed under contract to the developer, Front Street Capital.
