Geo-Hydro provided geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing services for the new multi-level StillFire Brewing facility in Smyrna. The building consists of a structural steel pre-engineered metal system supported on shallow foundations and a concrete slab on grade. Our team performed foundation bearing surface evaluations using hand auger and dynamic cone penetrometer testing. We observed reinforcing steel for compliance with project documents before concrete placement. Geo-Hydro sampled and tested structural concrete for slump, air content, temperature, and compressive strength. Masonry services included sampling and testing mortar and grout, observing reinforcing steel installation, and monitoring structural masonry grouting. We also performed inspection and testing of welded and bolted structural steel connections in accordance with applicable codes and AISC 360 requirements.
